WorldCup Cricket Fever

I know nothing about cricket. I know it is a game, or a sport that is popular in countries like Great Britain, Australia, India and other foreign nations. I was given the opportunity to review WorldCup Cricket Fever on the iPhone/iPod Touch. I thought it was chance to learn what this game is all about. Sadly WorldCup Cricket Fever did not teach me much.

I know it sounds like I am down on WorldCup Cricket Fever. I learned how to play this hand held title. I learned how to win. I still have no clue what was going on though. I know that sounds strange, but I was hoping WorldCup Cricket Fever would go over the nuances of the game, and explain that whole over thing. What are the pegs for? Why are those two guys running back and forth?

Visually WorldCup Cricket Fever impressed me. I like the stadiums, players, and umpires. Are they umpires in cricket? Or referees, or judges? I still don't know. They told me when I was out and not out. Since I never could catch the word they used. WorldCup Cricket Fever is a non-violent game where the only thing I ever saw damages were these colored wooden stakes.

The music in WorldCup Cricket Fever helps this game sky rocket to fame and fortune. The sound bytes in the game get annoying. Especially when they keep saying: "Run," or "Out." The crowds cheered quite a bit. I found scoring is really easy in this game. Hit it to a wall and you get four points. Let your guys run back and forth for some over points - whatever that is.

WorldCup Cricket Fever includes fourteen teams from around the world, six stadiums and three difficulty settings. The controls are very easy to master. It took me like thirty seconds to go through the tutorial. And then I was scoring points like crazy. I enjoyed the world tour mode personally. WorldCup Cricket Fever could have used some more modes but what can we say when this app is so cheap.

I feel that WorldCup Cricket Fever is a great cricket game on this hand held. I can see WorldCup Cricket Fever being fleshed out into a major console game in the future. It may not bowl over well in the States, but I can see it being very successful all over the world. I am thankful that I was allowed to review and play WorldCup Cricket Fever.
