Wordistic is an educational app that tries
to include fun in the learning process. These letters come cascading
down the iPhone/iPod Touch screen. The player must touch on the letters
to spell words. The longer the word the better the score. Score high
enough and you graduate to the next level. Fail to do so and its start
all over again.
Wordistic is a really good idea in concept. The problem is those letters
rain down past the player at a blistering pace. Which might not be so
bad if the needed letters would appear. Wordistic is kind to players by
showing possible words with the letters already selected. Say you spell
FOX, well the game will let you know about FOXY. So you can select FOX
or wait for a 'Y'. Problem is that 'Y' does not always appear.
The music in Wordistic is upbeat, and alive. It also ranges from
different styles and multiple tracks. The visuals in Wordistic are alive
with color. Some of them look like images from space to this reviewer.
The letters contrast as well as the special items like bombs. It would
be great if helpful special items appeared more often.
Wordistic can be played over and over again. Most players will probably
have to - trying to get through the first level. The ability to think
quickly, and learn words is a definite side effect of this iPhone/iPod
Touch app. Wordistic is currently selling for ninety-nine cents, which
is pretty standard for this kind of an app.
