Sticky Sheep

The sheep are completely ignoring the authority of the dog when it comes to herding. The dog decides to put a helmet on and he is going to take care of those sheep. This is the storyline in Sticky Sheep for the iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad. The dog herds the sheep in Sticky Sheep by bumping into them. The player controls the dog. We fling him towards the sheep. The goal is to get the sheep into the large blue circles in so many moves.

Sticky Sheep is part pool, and part curling. Throw in some things like mud and you got yourself one fun little app. The graphics in Sticky Sheep are small, but they zoom in. The dog bumping the sheep is nowhere near violent in my personal opinion. They both animate slowly, but thoroughly. Mud slows down the characters, and they bounce off of the various walls (like the fences).

The music in Sticky Sheep is wonderful. I love listening to this hand held title. The special effect sounds fit Sticky Sheep as well. Why the low score? Well there are some language issues in this game. Shame on you Apple for missing that in your rating. If the player does exceptionally well the game gives us the achievement of being a baaad alpha sierra sierra if you know what I mean. The sheep joke is not lost on me.

There are enough levels in Sticky Sheep to warrant the price. There are also numerous different modes that will appeal to families. Sticky Sheep lets us play in story and arcade modes. The controls in Sticky Sheep are generally friendly. Players can grab the screen and drag to get an idea where to launch the dog. This can be confusing at first. Lining things up can be a bit of trial and error.

The main lesson in Sticky Sheep is to figure out angles and how to use one object to move another object. Once we learn how to use one object to move another one, then we learn to place both objects exactly where we want them. I can see a sequel to Sticky Sheep being great if a few modifications are made.

First off the language should be changed to be more family friendly. A guide line is needed to show the player where their doggie will go so it is easier to bounce off multiple walls to bump a sheep. Sticky Sheep is an interesting game that brings something new, fun, and fascinating to the video game industry.
