Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed improves upon the original Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing in almost every single way. We have Danica Patrick, and Wreck-It Ralph to join Sonic, and a whole cast of Sega characters. Not only do we race around the tracks, we also fly and use boats.

I know that may be confusing. The vehicles in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed change depending upon the environment. We go through a gate and then our vehicle is a boat in the water, or a plane in the sky. This happens seamlessly while we are in a level. Sometimes more than once in a level too.

The true magic to Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is how this home console game keeps us on our toes. There is no easy memorization of the tracks. Why not? Because the tracks are constantly shifting and morphing on us. Family members must pay attention every single second in every single race track.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is beautiful looking. The environments, effects, vehicles, and characters are jaw dropping gorgeous. I noticed little details like the wrecking ball moving around on the back of the Wreck-It Ralph vehicle. Or Sonic's hair blowing when we get some speed. The little things add up over time.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed does contain kart racing violence. That means we collect items that launch weapons. These will spin out other racers. There is also some blood, and language issues in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. Those last two were not needed, and probably what moved this franchise from an 'E' for Everyone rating to an 'E10+' for Everyone Ten years old and older only.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed contains tons of achievements, stickers, characters, modes, and other unlockable content. There is local and online multiplayer modes in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. This is where families will have the most fun. Competing against one another is a real blast in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed.

There are tokens the player will collect in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. These are used on slot machines to earn a chance of a nice unlockable item. I am not happy about the gambling aspect, but do like earning unlockable items. Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed also includes add-on content - for a price.
