Ski Jumping 2012
SCORE: 88
Vivid Games has a neat little franchise
going on the iPhone/iPod Touch and the iPad - Ski Jumping. The latest
version of this franchise has come to Family Friendly Gaming in the form
of Ski Jumping 2012. This downhill 3D sports title will test your
skills. I enjoyed racing down the slopes at break neck speed as well as
sailing through the air.
The best thing about Ski Jumping 2012 is its graphics. This game looks
impressive. The snow, the slopes, and ski personnel all look great on
this hand held. The twenty real world venues look great. I personally
have never been ski jumping off of any of them, but they look realistic
to me. Players can crash but Ski Jumping 2012 does not show it.
The voice in Ski Jumping 2012 is a nice touch. Although it sounded more
like sound bytes that I heard over and over again. Especially when it
comes to failing in a jump. Ski Jumping 2012 made me feel bad about
making a mistake, and sending my jumper to the hospital. The music is
very rockish and brings something to the table.
Expect to play levels in Ski Jumping 2012 over and over again. The price
is good since it is only ninety-nine cents. The difficulty in Ski
Jumping 2012 comes from trying to figure out how to play it. And yes I
had it on the easy mode. Moving certain directions, or touch certain
buttons at the right time is the core game play mechanic of Ski Jumping
2012.
Ski Jumping 2012 teaches one really important lesson - the agony of
defeat. Ski Jumping 2012 is not a very forgiving game when it comes to
the controls. Small mistakes mean a crash. I even did things perfectly
(or so I thought), and did not score high enough to make it to the
second round. Ski Jumping 2012 is one challenging hand held video game.
If you are very talented or can accept a lesson in humility then you
should run to play Ski Jumping 2012. If your ego is sheltered then you
should avoid Ski Jumping 2012 like the plague. I had fun playing Ski
Jumping 2012, even though I am not very good at it. I hope next year
this franchise has a mode that is nicer to us.
