Secret of the Wings
SCORE: 87
Secret of the Wings is a heart warming
winter tale of discovery. The Winter Fairies are kept apart from the
other fairies. This is so both can be kept safe. Only Winter Fairies are
designed for the harsh cold weather. They can't cross over to the other
seasons because their wings can not handle the heat.
If you have followed any of the Tinker Bell movies thus far you should
have a good grasp on the character and what she will do. Of course she
is curious. Of course she has to see the winter wonderland for herself.
And when she does her wings begin to glow. At that point she must find
out why.
What makes Secret of the Wings so unique is there are no bad characters.
The authority figures that enforce the rules do so to keep others safe.
They also enforce the rules reluctantly. I will not spoil the ending. I
will say there is great peril for the entire kingdom in Secret of the
Wings. Again not because of an evil character - just a series of
mistakes made by more than one character.
The secrets Tinker Bell unearth in Secret of the Wings are truly
marvelous. It also shows us the origins of the Disney Fairies. We learn
more about them in Secret of the Wings than I have in any other movie.
At least any movie that I can remember. I appreciate this origins story.
The animation in Secret of the Wings is top notch. The contrast between
winter, autumn, and spring are fantastic. The acts of heroism in Secret
of the Wings are wondrous to see. The voice acting is also at the top of
its game. There are so many characters in Secret of the Wings that we
never get stuck on one for too long.
Family Friendly Gaming was provided the four disc package. This includes
Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy + Blu-ray 3D. Secret of the Wings includes
a bonus short that revolves around Halloween. I was really hoping for
something Christmas. There are also a couple of music videos, and Pixie
Hollow Games Bonus Adventure.
