Red Barons Revenge
SCORE: 76
Have you ever had a desire to go back
in time and guide WWII planes down safely to the runway? Have you ever
thought it would be cool to land blimps and WWII airplanes at the same
time? Ever wanted to guide certain planes (blue ones) to defend you
airstrip against the attacking enemy planes? If you answered yes to
these questions then you will take great interest in Red Baron's Revenge
on the iPhone/iPod Touch.
The graphics in Red Baron's Revenge remind me of a storybook. This is
not a bad thing, just what I think of. The planes in Red Baron's Revenge
look realistic, and fly around quite nicely. Landing a plane makes it go
away. A fiery explosion is the net result of bringing two planes
together in the same area. And that ends our level. So it behooves the
player to keep all planes separate.
When I heard the music in Red Baron's Revenge it reminded me of the old
silent films. Which is pretty cool in my humble opinion. It is subtle,
but present for the discerning ear. The explosion sound will wake you up
if you were paying attention to a different part of the board. Speaking
of the game play area, there are only ten levels in Red Baron's Revenge.
This is a little disappointing because Red Baron's Revenge can be a fun
game.
If you choose to play Red Baron's Revenge then you can expect a
challenge after the first couple of levels. Players tap a plane and draw
a line to where they want the plane/blimp to go. If you get into the
circle of where you need to land then it will present a circle to denote
it will land. The biggest problem I ran into was having to line them up
from a certain side. Otherwise they will not land.
Red Baron's Revenge can get hectic as more and more planes arrive on the
scene. The longer we keep planes safe the higher our score is. Each
level has a number that players need to hit to open the next level. The
main lesson in Red Baron's Revenge is to keep the airships and the air
field safe. Drawing lines in a certain path will keep planes safe.
Crossing them can be extremely dangerous.
