When the Kinect for Microsoft Xbox 360 launched in 2010 the world was so captivated by this exciting new way to play video games via motion control that it became the Guinness World Record holder for fastest-selling consumer electronic product. With over 18 million sold to date, that's great news for Microsoft, but questions of in-home security and privacy have continued to plague the platform ever since.

Rabbids Alive and Kicking

The Rabbids franchise is alive and well over at Ubisoft. The latest release with these characters comes to the Xbox 360 Kinect. Rabbids Alive & Kicking will have family members up and moving around. The ESRB put a rating of everyone ten years old and older. I would recommend families follow that at a bare minimum. Children under the age of ten can be worked up by this home console title.

Rabbids Alive & Kicking is all about the visual humor. There are various situations where the poor little rabbids take all kinds of damage. In some mini games the player can slap them around. I felt bad for the rabbids when I was taught to knock them around. They didn't do anything bad to me, so why would I want to abuse them?

The level of details in Rabbids Alive & Kicking is really good. I could quickly tell what different things are in this Kinect game. Toilet paper, and cheerleaders are some of the images that stick out to me. Other things like cows, and giant robot aliens also come to mind. Rabbids Alive & Kicking will take photos of family members in certain poses. Few will be flattering.

The crude humor does not stop in the visuals though. It is carried through with certain sounds as well. Expect to hear them frequently - especially the ones where you are knocking the rabbids around. There are some mini games in Rabbids Alive & Kicking that will require the player to sound off audible to the Kinect sensor.

Rabbids Alive & Kicking contains enough mini games to keep families busy for weeks. Rabbids Alive & Kicking is best played with two or more people as well. There are one player mini games in Rabbids Alive & Kicking, but I really feel this game is better as a party game. Rabbids Alive & Kicking is also an exercise game. I know officially it is not considered an exercise game, but any game that has us move this much is one.

The rabbids population explodes after a mad scientist mixes one with a cow. His intention was to multiple the rabbids. His success is at Biblical levels, and probably more than he was hoping for. That is why we have to abuse them in so many mini games. Their goal is to take over the world, and it is up to us to stop them. Yeah I know that story has never been used in the video game industry before.

The best thing about Rabbids Alive & Kicking is getting up and getting some exercise. I love doing that. I love how Rabbids Alive & Kicking makes it so much fun. The biggest drawback to Rabbids Alive & Kicking is the humor. It is in the toilet - literally in the toilet. Families will have to decide for themselves whether on Rabbids Alive & Kicking.
