Puzzle Craft

When I first saw Puzzle Craft I thought it was a match three game like the Jewel Master series. Games like Cradle of Rome, and Cradle of Persia. Puzzle Craft is so much more. We build building based on the resources. We harvest food, dig in the mine for resources, and more. We use the building in Puzzle Craft. So a market place is where we go and purchase things.

Puzzle Craft is so much more than a match three. We string together the same items. They can be right beside one another or they can be diagonal. We need at least three in Puzzle Craft but do not need to stop at three. On some screens I was tagging almost every single space. Puzzle Craft makes us think too. We need food for the workers to go and mine. We collect taxes every so many hours.

There are two aspects to the graphics in Puzzle Craft. The first is the screens where we are matching resources. These look great with all kinds of details. Then we have the town screens where things can look tiny. No complaints though because they animate exceptionally well. I marveled at this little hand held game on more than one occasion. It was neat watching the characters walk around the town.

Puzzle Craft is very reasonably priced at $0.99. It has in app purchases for those that can not be patient, or are too lazy to collect resources for themselves. Family Friendly Gaming was provided a download code for this review. And all of us here are extremely thankful for that. The music in Puzzle Craft is catchy and pleasant.

Puzzle Craft does a fantastic job of training players at the beginning. From there we are allowed to achieve things at our own pace. Want to keep working on food? Then go for it. Want to mine as soon as you have food? You can do that too. Players can pick and choose which buildings they want to work on.

I had a blast playing Puzzle Craft. I thought it was one thing, and found out it was so much more. I love being able to string together items diagonally. That little game play aspect of this iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad game goes a long ways. I hope to see sequels to this franchise in the coming years. Puzzle Craft hits the right notes in my opinion.
