 Party Wave

Party Wave is a surfing game on the iPhone/iPod Touch platform. It is broken out into two parts. The first part involves guiding surfers towards where a wave will appear. Sea life will get in the way at times, and there is a limited amount of time to get all the surfers there. The second part is where all the fun is. We surf a wave with all the surfers we brought into the wave.

Families may hit a brick wall when playing Party Wave. Certain levels require certain achievements. An example would be to have perfected so many levels before it. We should all do our best to be as perfect as we can, as Jesus Christ taught us to be perfect. Yet being perfect in Party Wave can be a downright chore.

Party Wave has a soft graphical look and feel to it. There are female characters in Party Wave that are wearing bikinis. Thankfully there is no rounding effects to these females. So no enticement to lust issues. Surfers in Party Wave can crash, and we get a little animation before they vanish. They come right back next time so I believe they were not injured.

The music in Party Wave is decent and fits the surfing theme. I kept expecting to hear the Beach Boys "Everybody's Surfing" song, but it did not appear. I am guessing licensing issues and all that legal wrangling. Surfers have a blast when they catch some air. I could almost feel their excitement. Party Wave is as close as I will be getting to a surf board.

I feel that Party Wave is a little light in the levels department. Especially when so much of it feels so random. I love surfing the waves in this iOS handheld video game. The control may only be tapping the surfers when they light up but it still feels fun. Later levels contain multiple surfers and this is where Party Wave gets crazy hard.

Parents should expect their children to ask for help in later levels of Party Wave. My advice is to work on the game a little bit yourself to get the concepts down, especially getting the surfers to the wave. Party Wave is very kind in how it teaches the players. I can see a sequel working in the future. I am thankful that I was provided a code to play and review Party Wave.
