ORC Vengeance

As one of the off-site reviewers the WMG loves to get codes for challenging games. ORC Vengeance is the closest game to Dungeon Siege this reviewer has ever seen on the iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad platform. We play as Rok, the Orc Warchief on a quest for vengeance in this lengthy RPG adventure. Humans have been slaughtered and it is up to the Orcs to save this dark fantasy world. ORC Vengeance is not for the weak of heart. We are playing a bad guy who is fighting off even worse creatures.

You may hear that ORC Vengeance has stunning graphics. The details in ORC Vengeance are fantastic. Which actually hurts it on the Family Friendly Gaming review scale. The blood, gore, and lengthy violence is there in frightening detail. The game itself sets a dark tone. Getting outside and seeing lightning was a wonderful visual effect.

Dealing with skeletons, zombies, and other fantasy creatures of the night can take their toll. ORC Vengeance is marinated with these monsters. Bosses are super monsters that take even longer to defeat. The music fits the moody nature of this game, and the humor is also dark in certain areas of this hand held game.

ORC Vengeance has thousands of items the player can find. The best part of ORC Vengeance is finding better armor and weapons. Players are given all kinds of freedom in terms of how they level up their nasty ugly Orc warrior. ORC Vengeance goes on an on in terms of areas. What players have to do does not change though.

The worst part of ORC Vengeance is the battles. We run into areas where hordes of monsters come after us. The goal is hack and slash them as quickly as possible. This is done by tapping on the enemy. This control method is easy to pick up and easy to use. The problem comes in when the player does not see an enemy in the dark areas. Then your character can die. Your character will not defend himself when being attacked. He takes it until he can not take it anymore. He has no self defense mechanism.

Playing ORC Vengeance feels strange. We take on the role of a bad guy to take out even worse guys. The moral and ethical lines feel off. Violent gamers will eat up ORC Vengeance. This game is a major milestone for the iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad platform. This game is close to PC quality gaming from a few years ago. It is only a matter of time for games on this platform to catch, and then maybe surpass the PC.
