Nascar The Game Inside Line
SCORE: 84
It is intriguing to see what different
companies do with a license. Nascar The Game Inside Line is another year
where Activision gets to hone their racing skills. They have improved
almost every facet of the game. That is not to say there are still some
areas left for continued improvement. Because there are.
Nascar The Game Inside Line is on the Wii, PS3, and Xbox 360. I played
the Wii version for this review. It starts out with this exciting and
amazing looking video. Man oh man was I ready to get out on the race
track. I also know a little more about Nascar so I was better prepared.
Once I passed my test I was ready to try and qualify for the first race.
This can be skipped if you are in a hurry. I decided to not chance being
placed forty-third. Starting in last place can be a real uphill battle.
The better you place the better you should finish. The better you finish
the more points you get. Which brings more sponsors, better equipment,
and even better results.
I want to tell all of our readers a little story about an early race I
had in Nascar The Game Inside Line. I qualified second, and was in the
first lap. The computer controlled vehicles spun me around, and the ones
behind kept spinning me until I was in last place. I lost it. I snapped.
I raced the wrong way and created a massive accident. One that rivaled
the pile up early on in the Disney Pixar Cars movie. The crew chief
wanted to know what I was doing. I had to restart the race.
The comments from the crew chief are defaulted on the soft side. I had
to get him to speak up. Generally he has good comments like telling me
when I am on the line. Too often he told me things I already knew. Like
to stay off the wall. Yeah I figured that out for myself. I like how
Nascar The Game Inside Line encourages us to race clean, and to pass
other cars cleanly.
I remember when Wii graphics looked amazing to me. Now they really seem
to be lacking. Hopefully the Wii U version of Nascar The Game Inside
Line will step that up. I am assuming there will be a Wii U version. The
menu screens look wonderful, and the damage on the vehicle is realistic.
Especially if you have massive collisions.
There are a variety of different control schemes for Nascar The Game
Inside Line. It all depends on which controls fit your personal gaming
style. Nascar fans will get a real kick out of Nascar The Game Inside
Line. There are enough modes and ways to play to keep them busy for a
few months at least.
