of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic with My Little Pony Friendship is
Magic Adventures in the Crystal Empire. This DVD includes five episodes,
a coloring sheet, and a Sing-Along. Girls will find some heroic lessons
on this DVD disc.
The episodes on My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Adventures in the
Crystal Empire are The Crystal Empire Part 1, The Crystal Empire Part 2,
Sonic Rainboom, Luna Eclipsed, and It's About Time. The lessons in these
episodes range from protecting those in need, to stop worrying.
My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Adventures in the Crystal Empire is a
little bit darker than previous releases of this show on DVD. The two
Crystal Empire episodes have moments of peril. Luna Eclipsed is all
about Halloween. The show uses a different name, but what other day do
people dress up and scare one another? The whole scaring thing felt off
to me.
Sonic Rainboom and It's About Time are the two best episodes on My
Little Pony Friendship is Magic Adventures in the Crystal Empire in my
opinion. I love the lessons of not worrying, and to be humble. Over
shadowing all of the work of a friend is shown as a bad thing in Sonic
Rainboom.
My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Adventures in the Crystal Empire
takes the franchise in a different direction. Trusting your friends, and
being willing to sacrifice yourself is a very adult concept that
children can understand. I hope future releases of this show return to
the more happy concepts.
