MiniMote

The MiniMote is the coolest little thing I have seen in some years. This Wii Remote is small. In fact it is reduced by 25% of a regular Wii Remote. What does that mean for families? First and foremost the MiniMote feels great. Little hands can use it without problems. People not used to gaming can pick up the MiniMote and quickly get into the game.

Want to know exactly how small the MiniMote is? I put a Nunchuk controller next to it, and they have just about the same length. Which led to wonder about a smaller Nunchuk controller. The MiniMote comes in blue and red. Family Friendly Gaming was provided the blue model of the MiniMote. I like the look and color of this little Wii controller.

One thing to be aware of with the MiniMote is how it interacts with peripherals. I plugged it into a Motion Plus sleeve and things did not line up right. I tried the MiniMote in racing controllers and again it did not work as one would hope. But that is part of what the MiniMote is. It makes a great small little Wii Remote. It works fine with a Nunchuk and thousands of Wii games.

The sync buttons is on the outside of the MiniMote. This is extremely important. We do not need to open the battery compartment to perform a sync. If we had to, I would be screaming bloody murder. Why? I had problems getting into the battery compartment to put in the two 'AAA' batteries. It is a tight fit that did not want to open. Also please note the 'AAA' batteries not the 'AA' that other Wii Remotes use.

I like the feel of the MiniMote. Even people with big hands (like my hubby) found the MiniMote comfortable to play with. Various buttons make satisfactory sounds as they are depressed. The blue lights on the MiniMote compliment the unit as well. Plus they can light up a dark room if you are playing in the dark. I know some of our readers like playing video games with the lights out. It may not be great for their eyes though.
