Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 1 Volume 1
SCORE: 82
There are days I wonder what I got myself
into. A perfect example is when Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 1
Volume 1 came in on DVD. Technically it is three DVDs in the package. I
had requested a reviewable copy from our friends over at the Shout
Factory. Even so I wondered what I had gotten myself into. Mighty
Morphin Power Rangers Season 1 Volume 1 is ten hours long. There are
thirty episodes.
I am all GO! GO! POWER RANGERed out. What is insane is Mighty Morphin
Power Rangers Season 1 Volume 1 is only the first volume of the first
season. This first season is huge. We meet the evil sorceress Rita,
Alpha 5, Zordon and the Power Rangers. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
Season 1 Volume 1 starts out with five, but eventually the sixth Power
Ranger is added.
I have to get something out of the way in terms of Mighty Morphin Power
Rangers Season 1 Volume 1. It is campy, very campy. The giant robots,
and monsters do not look great. There is a fair amount of martial arts
in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 1 Volume 1. It seems like every
episode they have to fight putties, some monster, and then it becomes
giant. There are a few episodes where the monsters do not go all giant
size, and I appreciated the diversity.
The goal of Rita is to conquer the earth. The Power Rangers fight her
off to protect and save the earth. Zordon gives the Power Rangers three
commandments they have to keep if they want to keep their Power Ranger
power. These are three good things to live by. The Power Rangers are
also helping out kids younger than themselves.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 1 Volume 1 tries its hand at humor
which never reached me. My seven year old son laughed at a few of the
comical moments. The Power Rangers help a variety of causes. I could not
help but notice they were all on the political left. Not one issue from
the political right was addressed. This is sad commentary on the
imbalance over in Hollywood.
The Green Ranger Tommy makes things very interesting in Mighty Morphin
Power Rangers Season 1 Volume 1. I was happy to see him because it
spread the time among all the characters. The robot Alpha 5, and Zack
are two extremely annoying characters. Billy and Jason are very strong
characters. The two female Power Rangers have their moments.
One thing that is fantastic about Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 1
Volume 1 is the attire choices. The characters all dress appropriately,
and I happily remember fashions from that time period. The costumes from
the battles may not look that great, but Shout Factory kept Mighty
Morphin Power Rangers Season 1 Volume 1 true to its roots.
