Little Pim

Little Pim is a product on a variety of platforms to teach children from zero to five years old a language. What kind of language? Hebrew, French, Japanese, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, English and more. Family Friendly Gaming was provided a DVD and a CD. They are for different languages. The DVD focuses on a specific activity (eating and drinking in this case),and the CD is children songs sung by native speakers.

For the CD there is a sixteen page booklet with the lyrics in both French and English. So it can help us understand what we were singing about. The DVD tells us things in English and Hebrew. As you can probably tell we did not pick something easy. We picked two languages that no one here spoke, wrote, or had any previous experience in.

The core of Little Pim is teaching children. How does it do? Exceptionally well. It repeats the words and shows the action. Little Pim slowly builds the knowledge base in a way that children (and even adults) can easily learn. I loved seeing the actions over and over again with the object I was learning like a sandwich.

Little Pim includes a cute little panda bear who is our guide. It bounces back and forth between his animations and real live video of families. Sometimes just children. In the Little Pim DVD Family Friendly Gaming used for this review it was on eating and drinking. Please note there are multiple DVDs for each language.

Words in Little Pim are clearly enunciated. They are repeated multiple times so the viewer can learn them. There are over sixty words and phrases on the DVD. There are fifteen songs on the CD. The market place has all kinds of products to learn different languages. Little Pim is one of the best I have seen for children. Plus parents are encouraged to work with their kids on learning.

If you are looking for a good children's product in learning a new language then I recommend checking out Little Pim.
