Light the Flower

Chillingo has been on a roll lately with some awesome games for families. Light the Flower is the latest stellar hit to come from their company. We place mirrors to get light to the flowers. This is not a completely new idea in the video game industry. There was Reflection Connection, and Prism Light the Way. So the idea is not completely new, but a very good one to go with.

The flowers in Light the Flower are absolutely adorable. I love how they animate, and get excited when I shine some light on them. Plus look at the concept of Light the Flower - we are bringing light to dark areas. Christians can definitely relate to that concept. Once I hit different colored flowers I knew Light the Flower was a hit.

The music in Light the Flower is inspired. The flowers will get excited when we start to shine light on them. They give us sad sounds when we move the light away. Each flower has a bar that needs to be filled with light, and it has to stay full. Certain levels in Light the Flower will require multiple flowers to be filled up before the level is completed.

Currently Light the Flower has sixty levels. There are three stars to try and attain in each level. Stars have to be illuminated just like the flowers. Some levels can be challenging in terms of finding how to light all the stars and all the flowers. I hope there are more levels added to Light the Flower in the future. This game is a really good concept, and one that I hopes get the same treatment Where's My Water? got (in terms of additional levels).

Light the Flower really made me think about where to put mirrors to shine the light in certain areas. This is not always easy, and at times it took multiple attempts. I love how Light the Flower teaches us to use light to improve the plant life. Since they need light to live. I don't know about you, but I feel better when I get some sunlight as well.

Light the Flower earns our seal of approval because it is such a wonderful game for families. We learn how to reflect light, and get to see some cute flowers along the way. It was a real pleasure for me to play and review Light the Flower on the iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad. The only thing this app could improve is more levels.
