Children of Mana

Children of Mana is a wonderful example of what is wrong with the role playing genre in this age. Some of these problems have existed for a long time, but numerous companies have progressed past them. Here is another role playing game that promotes goddess worship. No wonder so many weak Christians have turned to new age beliefs. They have been brain washed over and over again by the game developers proselytizing their beliefs. All the while they say to themselves its only entertainment. Yet they conform to what the game tells them.

Players must constantly fight in Children of Mana. They are destroying very disgusting and repugnant looking monsters. All the while they are using magical spirits to help them on their crusade. Save the mystical tree, and the world. Because we all know that one tree is what keeps the planet alive. Yes the RPG Master is mocking that belief.

The music is exceptional. It has a serene flow to it that we usually only see in Square Enix titles. Then they had to mess it all up with bad language. It does nothing to further the story along, and winds up ruining it. Here is a thought - since it is a fantasy world the developer could have come up with words we have never heard of before. It would add a little mystery to what is being said, and show some actual creativity.

Like most role playing games Children of Mana includes a lot of different content. There are skills, powers, and attacks. Some of this content is not exactly the best stuff, and seems very evil to this reviewer. There are numerous quests, but you really have to enjoy this style of game. Expect to hear more on this in the next section. The RPG Master purchased Children of Mana and feel that the money was wasted. Learn from that mistake and avoid this train wreck.

Do you enjoy doing the same thing over and over again? If you do then you will enjoy Children of Mana. This reviewer however felt like there was no diversity in this game. It is so mind numbingly boring that some people have actually fallen asleep while playing it. The mindless violence was broken up by watching enemies bounce around after being hit a few times.

Children of Mana has goddess worship, and other new age religious beliefs. The environmentalism angle has also gotten old. This reviewer needs a shower after playing this game because of the moral, ethical, and religious content. Avoid Children of Mana like the plague.
