What Am I Farm
SCORE: 89
The cool thing about my job at Family
Friendly Gaming is I get to see small developers grow and mature. What
Am I Farm is the best version of this franchise from Wonky Woo Games.
They have surpassed every expectation I had for the franchise. There is
Mixed Up and Matching just like before. However there is now Sheep Shear
and Peeka. I was not expecting the game modes to double. So this is a
huge step up for them.
The graphics continue the cute look and feel. It is apparent to me that
Wonky Woo Games has learned from past mis-steps. The art work for the
animals, and the animals chosen are all very diverse. There are little
touches like a tail for the cow and the
horse. This makes selecting the appropriate animal in the Mixed Up mode
much easier. Sheep Shear has a little humorous animation that shows this
developer is very creative.
The youthful sounds continue in What Am I Farm. The accents are
interesting for me to listen to. I am world traveled and enjoy different
accents. Thankfully the accents are not thick. The animals sounds in
What Am I Farm will help teach children the different noises they make,
and connect them to the general animal. I did not find any offensive
sounds while playing What Am I Farm.
One of the things I love doing with a game designed for children is to
have a real child play the game. What Am I Farm came back with positive
feedback. The favorite mode was the Peeka. Kids enjoy playing that one
over and over again. Since it is random the screen does not always need
to be scrolled, and I found myself thinking the animal was not trying
very hard.
The touch screen controls work amazingly well. I found no issues or
problems with What Am I Farm. This is another area where Wonky Woo Games
has learned from past mistakes. The controls in Sheep Shear are my
personal favorite. What Am I Farm is a fun little app that is worth the
ninety-nine cents in my opinion. I hope this franchise continues to get
better in future releases.
The main lessons in What Am I Farm are learning farm animals. Both their
look, and their sounds. What Am I Farm can have children ask questions
about things like shearing sheep. Younger children can learn how to
match, and find hidden items. What Am I Farm is a great little game that
children enjoy, and it is safe for the entire family. I am very thankful
that we received a reviewable copy of this app.
