Traverse

Traverse is a puzzle game on the iPhone/iPod Touch. The controls take a little getting used to, but once I understood an entire world opened up to me. I learned to tap where I wanted the ball to go, and then to press a second time for where I wanted the second destination to be. Finally I had to tap the starter spot for the ball to start. The starter spot goes to the second destination once the ball makes it to the first. There are multiple items to collect in each level.

The background graphics in Traverse are black. The colored orbs that are are collectible are colors that offset nicely. I did not find any offensive graphics while playing Traverse. I enjoyed the colors, but have to admit the tones are on the darker side. Especially after collecting many of the orbs in a level. I did like the various shapes the orbs made in numerous levels.

Traverse includes 120 levels. Now many of them can be beaten in a minute or less, but that is still a lot of levels for ninety-nine cents. We were provided a reviewable copy of Traverse, so I did not have to purchase it. I do feel that Traverse is worth the price of admission.

There is a puzzle mode, and a challenge mode in Traverse. If you are really stuck you can purchase a solution to the levels. The various power ups spice this game up, although I had to learn via trial and error what most of them did.  The levels are fun and thought provoking. The physics engine is interesting and I enjoyed experimenting with it.

Magnetic draw is one of the lessons I learned in Traverse. Other levels showed me how gravity works. I find nothing morally or ethically wrong with Traverse. It is an app that safe for the entire family. I do suggest that you read the instructions at least once to comprehend how to play Traverse. I would like to see sequels to this game in the future.
