Transformers Japanese Collection Headmasters
SCORE: 80
There are days at Family Friendly Gaming
that turn into weeks. That may not make a lot of sense at first, but
bear with me because it will eventually. We were blessed enough to
receive a copy of Transformers Japanese Collection Headmasters. There are
thirty-five episodes of this show on the four DVDs. I had mixed feelings
about this package.
Transformers Japanese Collection Headmasters is completely in Japanese.
Well that is not completely true. There are English subtitles. Have you
ever completely read a cartoon while watching it? I can now say that I
have. It has been an experience I will not forget any time soon.
The graphics in Transformers Japanese Collection Headmasters are standard
animation from that era. This show starts out with standard known
Transformers and ends with an almost completely new cast. How they come
and go is integral to the storyline. The Transformers shoot one another,
and on some instances they do some hand to hand destructive combat.
I have watched so much of Transformers Japanese Collection Headmasters
that I have been dreaming in Japanese. I still have no idea what most of
the words mean, but I can close my eyes, calm my brain, and hear the
voices. I am not really sure about how good the voice acting is, but I
could sense emotion. The classic Transformers music and special effect
sounds are all over this show. The characters like to say: “scrap,”
quite often.
The storyline follows the Headmasterss as they fight off the evil
Decepticons. It culminates in a defense of the planet earth in an
attempt to destroy it. I must admit I am confused by some of the
storylines in Transformers Japanese Collection Headmasters. Certain
robots are brought back to life while others are left dead. Rarely did
it make sense to me. My oldest son also questioned why certain robots
were not brought back.
The substance in Transformers Japanese Collection Headmasters is good
versus evil. There are also some sub lessons in this show. A boy growing
up, being a warrior, friends, revenge, justice, helping others, and
being selfish. All of these are in the thirteen hours of Transformers
Japanese Collection Headmasters. The art work of many of the robots is
the main bonus feature in this show. This DVD package includes a lot of
culture that I appreciate. It has been more work to watch this, than any
other show.
