Touchgrind BMX

Touchgrind BMX is a concept so interesting I absolutely had to play it. I talked to the EIC, and he was happy to let me go for a spin in this iPhone/iPod Touch game. Players get a bicycle, and perform tricks in some interesting looking environments. Two fingers are used to play Touchgrind BMX. One on the seat, and the other on the handle bars. Both fingers are used in the controls of Touchgrind BMX.

The graphics are very high quality in Touchgrind BMX. That is the first thing I noticed about this game. The graphics look great. The tutorials show a player how to control the bikes in Touchgrind BMX. The environments look good, as do the bikes. I can not say enough good things about this part of this game. When you make a mistake (and you will), the game resets the player and the bike after a quick little screen reset. No violence is seen, and that is appreciated here at Family Friendly Gaming.

The music in Touchgrind BMX is no jive turkey. It amplifies the trick aspect of this game. Not only that, it also got me excited about racing around on a bicycle. It has been some years since I rode one. The special effect sounds get the heart racing. So if you have a weak heart you may want to pass on Touchgrind BMX. If you think you can take it, then explore this app.

The price for Touchgrind BMX is $4.99 right now. A little steep in my opinion considering what else is on the market. With that said, there are a lot of different unlockables in Touchgrind BMX. So you will definitely get a lot for that price. A certain number of tricks are needed to progress to the next level. This can frustrate some gamers. It is cool to unlock new bikes, and new areas.

You know how we have commented here at Family Friendly Gaming about the problems with playing games where your finger is right on top of the action in a game? Well Touchgrind BMX has two fingers on the screen. There were times I had problems seeing where I was going. Having big hands with big fingers has a lot to do with that. The controls themselves work marvelously. They amazed me with how well they worked.

Touchgrind BMX is a good solid game. It is polished quite nicely. Families can learn about physics, how to do tricks on a bicycle, and the ratio of speed to distance. A lot of games on the iPhone are just mindless fun. Touchgrind BMX is one that will require some thought and planning. Players will have to work on certain levels to attain certain achievements. Don't let that frighten you, because Touchgrind BMX is put together really well.
