The Wild Thornberrys Season One

The Shout Factory has captured our attention here at Family Friendly Gaming. They keep finding television shows that are different. Some have been better than others in our opinions. The Thornberrys are a family that travel together in a CommVee. Eliza is the youngest daughter who can talk to animals. She got this skill after a witch doctor did something magical to her. The family has a wild boy who acts more like an animal, and a chimpanzee that wears clothing. He also talks, and they named him Darwin. The father and mother tape exotic animals for their documentary.

The art style to The Wild Thornberrys Season One is weird. It is not realistic, but not cartoonish either. It is really difficult for me to pin it down. The humans look sort of like squat characters from old role playing games. Yet not that small. So take that style and grow it up a little. Plus they have really long arms. The teenage daughter shows off her midriff, and sometimes shorts. I highly doubt teenage boys would find her attractive. Normally she only has one eye showing thanks to her extremely long hair.

The music in The Wild Thornberrys Season One has a tribal feel to it. At times it feels African, and other times it feels like the Rainforest. I believe that is because of the locations. Normally they are in one of those two spots. The voice acting is decent in The Wild Thornberrys Season One. Lacey Chabert, Tim Curry, and Flea headline as voice actors. I noticed some mild evolution references, and lying. At times the dialogue in The Wild Thornberrys Season One made little sense to me.

There are five episodes per disc, and there are four discs. This brings The Wild Thornberrys Season One up to twenty episodes. I checked the current prices of The Wild Thornberrys Season One, and that is two dollars per episode. Re-watching the episode is about all the extras you can expect from this package. Now this is the first time The Wild Thornberrys Season One has been released on DVD so fans of the show will be ecstatic.

The storylines in The Wild Thornberrys Season One range dramatically. There are times Eliza and Darwin help animals. There are times the animals help them. There is some mild education on ecological matters, as well as the environmental belief system. One episode has the mother pining after some old crush, which was bizarre. That same episode dealt with vampires. Another episode had people trying to capture Donnie calling him the missing link. Poachers, and people cutting down the rainforest are shown as the bad guys.

I found the The Wild Thornberrys Season One to be weird on so many levels. I love how the family stays together. I did not like how they constantly went off and did their own thing when they got to their location. The parents leave the kids to their own devices too often for my comfort. The biggest lesson in The Wild Thornberrys Season One is animals and humans are the same. My oldest commented on that, and he was not buying it. Many of the wild animals were really tame in my opinion - which can be deceptive when comparing it to the real world.
