The Office Season Five
SCORE: 60
Season Five of The Office has the best comedy scene in terms of a fire drill. The frantic panic, and pure laughter that comes out of this scene is stunning. The WMG has almost completely caught up on this series. The love triangle between Andy, Angela, and Dwight comes to an interesting conclusion in this season as well. Micheal is given a lesser role, or at least he is toned down, and shown as a much more sympathetic character. Ryan’s character takes strange turns, and Kelly just needs to go.
It is never good news when a television show has to blur out certain images. That happens in The Office Season Five. There are various anatomy jokes on parts of the human body. Meredith continues to be the core of grossness jokes. Business attire is in most episodes, and the characters generally dress very respectable. Casual Friday is the one episode where this is blown out of the water.
As funny as The Office Season Five is, there are still moments where this reviewer cringes. Having to bleep things out is always a sign of an area ripe for major improvement. Some of the jokes will get stuck in your head if you watch The Office Season Five too often. Some of them are much better placed, and not run into the ground.
The cool thing about The Office Season Five is there is a lot of extra content. The bad part is it is either lower quality, or just as offensive as other parts of the show. There are a couple of stand out episodes in The Office Season Five, but most are a one watch kind of thing. The storyline continues in various characters lives.
Ultra hardcore fans of this show will love the extras. Casual viewers
will not be as interested.
The writing in The Office Season Five is very tightly woven. Certain
episodes are stuff with content on so many characters that is can be
tough to keep it all together. The WMG wound up watching The Office
Season Five multiple times to make sure everything was caught. Certain
shows are funnier than others. The better you understand the characters
the better the experience is with The Office Season Five.
Families are not celebrated in The Office Season Five, in fact they are
attacked. Sexual deviancy is shown as a good thing. The one character
who has potential to be a shining light is shown as angry, and hateful.
It is a shame that is how Hollywood distorts things. Families need to be
very careful of The Office Season Five due to how preachy this show is
on the extreme of one side. This series has a few bright spots, but more
dark.
