The Moogies is the strangest app I have
ever reviewed. I would not classify this app as a game. There are nine
different animals in The Moogies. Touch one on the first screen for a
screen with that animal to come up. Tap different places on that screen
to watch various animations. An example is touching the running machine
for the horse to start walking on it.
The art work in The Moogies is generally friendly to kids. I find it strange to see these animals standing on two feet like humans. They also do human like things such as science experiments, and taking a bath. I mean a real bath in a bath tub. There is some comic mischief in The Moogies, as they will spray the screen with water.
The sounds in The Moogies are where this app shines. The Moogies includes quite a bit of humor. Children in the target age bracket enjoy it. The main selection screen has a phone dialing sound when you tap on one of the animals. The Moogies exhibit a wide range of emotions.
Most of the apps we review here at Family Friendly Gaming are ninety-nine cents. Since we know there are so many at that price, we use that as a gauge. The universal build (iPhone/iPod Touch, and iPad) costs $2.99. I feel this is a little high for the level of content. Kids enjoy The Moogies, but it is not one of those lasting apps.
There are a fair amount of things to do on each of the animals screens. They are the same things though. I am not sure how many times any of us can watch that ball inflate and flatten the horse. I did not learn much from The Moogies. I suppose the numbers one thru nine could be gleaned from this app. The main lesson in The Moogies is to explore. The animals in this app play around and have a good time. Don't you wish life were like that all the time? No worries, no bills, no issues, no stresses. Just having a good time all day long.
