The Avengers Earths Mightiest Heroes Volume 1 and Volume 2 The Avengers Earths Mightiest Heroes Volume 1 and Volume 2

We had some internal debate here at Family Friendly Gaming about how to review The Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes Volume 1 and Volume 2. Technically there are two volumes, but volume 1 has seven episodes and volume 2 contains six episodes. Together they make up the normal episodes for a season of cartoons. So it was decided to do one review for the two volumes.

The Avengers are an interesting super hero team. One of the things that makes them so interesting is the membership changes throughout the season. The season starts out giving a show to each of the heroes. Then things start to really get going. Someone breaks out all the super villains. From that point on this show starts to rock and roll.

There is super hero violence in The Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes Volume 1 and Volume 2. The bad guys do not just roll over because they are told to. They may have complex motives, but usually it comes down to some form of selfishness. The animation is done well, and there are various effects. Iron Man has a technical feel to him whereas Thor has more of an elemental feel. Hulk is pure power, and Ant Man is very scientific. Wasp has a pure joy about her, and Captain America has a real military motif.

The first thing I noticed about The Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes Volume 1 and Volume 2 is the theme song. This song is so amazing we have been looking to download it on iTunes. Our kids love the song as much as I do. It exemplifies team work in an upbeat and very energetic way. It is so nice to watch a television show where language is appropriate. Characters use words like hide to describe saving someone's bacon. One of my boys mentioned a bad guy was called a dirt bag.

The Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes Volume 1 and Volume 2 contain previews for upcoming movies, and the bonus feature New Looks, New Heroes. This is a small preview of some upcoming characters in Season Two. Which brings up an interesting aspect of these two volumes. They are essentially only half of the first season. Yes I know what I said earlier. But this show has doubled the episodes for a season. Boys of the right age really enjoy The Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes Volume 1 and Volume 2. As an adult I appreciated the writing and human aspect of the super heroes.

The characters are what really drives The Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes Volume 1 and Volume 2. They are complex and deep. I also noticed the bad guys are as well. They have real reasons for doing what they are doing. They don't just want to rule the world. They want to reshaped it in their own image. Which means some villains will team up, and at other times try and stop another one from success. I noted numerous concepts in The Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes Volume 1 and Volume 2. Some examples are using people, being selfless, being selfish, seeking help, listening to others, and the dangers of magic.

It was a real treat for me to be able to watch and review The Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes Volume 1 and Volume 2. I am thankful that Family Friendly Gaming was provided retail copies for this review. At times I wonder how such an eclectic group can work together. The writers kept things real as some members leave. Certain personalities clash, and arguments ensue. The violence is the main thing families will want to take note of. There is also some slight sexualization of certain female characters. Thankfully this television show is much safer than the comic books.
