Super Stack Attack
SCORE: 82
Stacking blocks is one of those activities
that takes us back to when we were toddlers. I was interested in seeing
how Super Stack Attack pulled it off on the iPhone/iPod Touch. There is
some nice high points, and one area that I was not so high on. There is
a hook that holds the block and moves from left to right. The player
must tap the block at the right time to get it to drop on the stack of
blocks. Sounds pretty simple.
The graphics in Super Stack Attack are very polished. The blocks have
eyes that animate, and the backgrounds look pretty sharp too. If you get
the blocks close to teetering they will animate in a way that had me
pulling for them to stay up. Unfortunately Super Stack Attack is a
difficult game, and they fell down more often than not.
The music in Super Stack Attack is fun, and fresh. There is one part
with children laughing that made me think I was going to have a lot of
fun with this iPhone/iPod video game. The music fits the theme, and is
the second shining star of Super Stack Attack. If only we stopped there
huh? Sorry there are five categories Family Friendly Gaming reviews on.
There are not a lot of levels to Super Stack Attack. However there is an
endless mode. Have I mentioned this game is difficult yet? Well it is,
so the few levels in this game will not be a problem because it will
take numerous replays to complete Super Stack Attack. If you are up for
a challenge then you will find your ninety-nine cents well spent on
Super Stack Attack.
Family Friendly Gaming was provided a download code for Super Stack
Attack. I am glad we did because of one major issue I have with this
game. It is very difficult to get the blocks to drop where you want them
to. The first problem I had was how fast the hook goes. The second issue
I had was trying to see. Since Super Stack Attack uses a touch screen,
my finger was right over where I needed it to fall. Seeing through my
own finger proved to be difficult. I am not Super Girl, and I do not
have X-ray vision.
The main lessons in Super Stack Attack are balance, and lining up where
to put things. I love the concept of this game. I just wish some of the
application had been a bit different. Slowing down the hook would have
been appreciated. I hope there are sequels to Super Stack Attack in the
near future. The various characters (blocks) show some real creativity.
