Starhunter

I enjoy sci-fi shows here and there. I had requested Starhunter for last Christmas, and received it. Yes it has taken me almost a year to get to this four disc DVD set. Part of the problem is this show is a real tough one to watch. Dante is trying to find his son. Why? Well his son was kidnapped by raiders. He is a bounty hunter, which gives him greater access to finding raiders. The human race is about to change and that sub plot eventually takes over the show. One Outer Limits show could have told this whole story, and probably done it much better.

The majority of the special effects in Starhunter are not that great. You know some of the original Star Trek special effects are better. Starhunter contains violence, threats, murder, and nudity. This show is not for children. The show’s AI has an interesting effect, although why he is in such a bad shape makes little to no sense to me. The sets look cheap, and do not seem to function too well. There are a few pieces of artwork in Starhunter that I appreciated.

The bad language in Starhunter hurts this show tremendously. The nonchalant attitudes during a lot of the show will make most viewers believe the acting is horrible. The music is okay in Starhunter. Nothing stuck with me, and only a few sounds annoyed me. There is an anti-religion episode which will annoy people of faith.

There are some previews on the first disc of Starhunter. Watch them to learn what other shows/movies to avoid. I had seen a few of the others, and they are really low quality. I got this as a present, and feel like the person who did so wasted their money. The main reason I am writing this review is to help all ya’ll avoid it.

The discs function properly. My one complaint is they are a bit slow at getting to the main screen. Starhunter contains a lot of bad attitudes from almost every single character. The storyline takes forever to get going, and the plot lines are extremely predictable. I knew where the seeds were when Percy first got the kaleidoscope.

I like the idea of a character going to all these lengths to find his only son. That is the redeeming quality of Starhunter. Sadly it is the only one, but I am always looking for positives. Many will find the main plotline offensive. Humans have been altered by aliens, and unlocking those changes grant us special powers. A mother experiments on her son, and numerous characters lie to get their way.
