One of the kinds of video games we love to review here at Family Friendly Gaming are 'EC' rated games. It is wonderful when companies think about the younger members of the family, and produce a positive product that teaches good lessons. Sesame Street Ready, Set, Grover! on the Wii is one such video game. It is great to see Warner Bros Interactive publish this game.
Grover, Elmo, and Abby are well known Sesame Street characters. They take children through this game with the theme of healthy habits. This includes brushing teeth, exercising, listening skills, comprehension, and more. We tried children in the proper age range, and they were able to play Sesame Street Ready, Set, Grover! easily.
The animation of the Sesame Street characters is fantastic. Kids will laugh at various points while they are exercising and learning important lessons. I find it wonderful that here is another Wii game that teaches good lessons. There are different colors used in Sesame Street Ready, Set, Grover! and there is some education on different colors. In fact every single aspect of Sesame Street Ready, Set, Grover! encompasses some form of learning. This includes the menu screens.
The voices in Sesame Street Ready, Set, Grover! are spot on. They match the television show, and movies. They are encouraging to the child, even when a mistake is made. They also do not give up. Now if your child is having a problem with Sesame Street Ready, Set, Grover! then the parents can take the second Wii remote and assist them without the child even knowing about it. I tested this, and it works wonderfully.
A child can go through the main story mode in around two hours. All of these games can be replayed. Parents can adjust various aspects of Sesame Street Ready, Set, Grover! to make it more challenging. If you have a child in the appropriate age bracket, then I would highly suggest this Wii game. It will assist in their education and it is a game they can play. Kids feel really big when there is a game for them. The package Family Friendly Gaming received also contained a Wii Remote sleeve that looks like Grover. That sleeve is very popular here.
The controls in Sesame Street Ready, Set, Grover! are designed for the younger members of the family. Moving the Wii remote, and pressing the '2' button are the extent of the controls. But they did not stop there. Sesame Street Ready, Set, Grover! also comes with a Grover sleeve for the Wii Remote. This covers all the other buttons on the Wii remote. It makes it even easier for children. Kids have fun playing this game, and parents love how much they are learning.
The most important aspect to me in Sesame Street Ready, Set, Grover!
is the audio directions. Children can not read yet in this age bracket
so they have to be verbally told what to do. Sesame Street Ready, Set,
Grover! goes beyond that as the directions are also shown visually.
Sesame Street Ready, Set, Grover! earns the rarely given Family Friendly
Gaming seal of approval. This game helps the image of the video game
industry, and helps families by giving them another upbeat learning
tool.
