Sea Stars is a family friendly version of
Jetpack Joyride. There are so many similarities between Sea Stars and
Jetpack Joyride. In Sea Stars we take on the role of a marine animal.
Swim through the levels collecting coins and avoiding things like jelly
fish. Touch the screen to dive, and let go to launch upwards. Sea Stars
has lots of achievements to attain. Collect enough to level up and earn
a new title.
Sea Stars is a beautiful looking game. The animals, and ocean animate in
a way that is friendly and safe for the entire family. Sea Stars uses
wonderful colors. Jumping seven times in a row produces a rainbow. This
rainbow sends birds to colorfully drop coins for the player. This is one
amazing visual effect that propels Sea Stars into the upper echelon.
The music in Sea Stars is fun, fresh, and watery. The good kind of
watery you know? Like a bath, or a refreshing shower. There are items
like shields and other marine life that can be used to help. For example
a little cute squid character will ink things for you. All of this is
done in a way that all ages of the family can embrace, celebrate and
enjoy.
Sea Stars can be played for weeks. There are new challenges constantly
for the player. The levels go on and on. Eventually
everyone makes
a mistake and then can decide to use their coins to purchase things or
not. These are additional content or power ups that can be used in the
level. Unlike Jetpack Joyride there is no slot machine. Certain in level
items can be found that will provide the player with one of three items.
This works better in my opinion.
The controls are very simple and easy in Sea Stars. Touch the screen to
dive. Let go to go flying up. The real strategy is finding the right
balance between the two to avoid the obstacles. I had fun playing Sea
Stars on the iPhone/iPod Touch. I believe you will as well. I feel that
Sea Stars surpasses Jetpack Joyride in every way.
After playing Sea Stars I had this sudden craving for some tuna fish. I
can't say why for sure though. I learned to embrace all kinds of color
thanks to Sea Stars. I also learned to avoid obstacles. I would love to
see more games of this type, style, and family friendly nature in the
future. Hothead Games has done a great thing with Sea Stars.
