Scribblenauts Remix

I am astounded at how many different titles are making their way over to the iPhone/iPod Touch platform. Scribblenauts Remix is one that I would have never expected. I should also let ya'll know that you need a 4rth generation iPhone and/or iPod Touch. I know what the page says, and I also know that we could not transfer this game to a third generation iPod Touch. It does work fine on a fourth generation one though.

For those that do not know the Scribblenauts franchise is about solving problems by typing in words. The words you type become objects, and you use them to get the stars and/or solve puzzles. So one level may have a star in a tree. You can use a ladder, trampoline, helicopter or other ideas to get up there. You are limited by the game's dictionary and your own imagination.

The graphics and animation has always been herky jerky in this franchise. Scribblenauts Remix is no exception. I figure that has more to do with the amount of things that need to be animated. You can also use violent means to solve a puzzle. I used one predator to take out another one in certain situations. Or things like an anvil to rid me of a certain creature.

Wow the music is catchy in Scribblenauts Remix. I kept playing level after level partially because I was enjoying the toonage. Attacking animals make unhealthy crunch sounds. There are fifty levels in Scribblenauts Remix. Ten of them are brand new - never before seen in a Scribblenauts game. That is certainly worth the ninety-nine cents.

The more failed attempts you have at something the deeper the hint system would go. There are some situations where I had done something, but the game did not recognize it. Like putting a cloak on a character as part of a disguise. Other times the hints may have not helped me. In one level it was talking about missing links, and evolutionary ladders. I have not been trained in that religious belief system so I had no idea what went between what. I found that level extremely puzzling.

There are certain concepts in Scribblenauts Remix that will raise some eyebrows. One level has the player getting items to rob a bank. Another one has the player interacting with evolution. I am not sure if Scribblenauts Remix is teaching those things or just putting them there as acceptable acts. Or just situations to get us out of our comfort zones.

I do appreciate the creativity in Scribblenauts Remix. It is always nice to see how many different ways we can solve the same situation/puzzle. I am pleased that this franchise is continuing on.
