Red Ball 3
SCORE: 81
Do you have a desire to be a red little
ball and roll around side scrolling levels? If you do, then Red Ball 3
is the perfect game for you. Wait I almost forgot. Red Ball 3 also
consists of puzzle elements. Players have to figure out how to get the
red little ball through the levels. What is our purpose for going
through these levels? The red balls girlfriend was stolen by the black
ball. That mean nasty black ball!
Red Ball 3 has a storybook graphical atmosphere. Players can have their
little red ball fall off the screen or evaporate when he hits a spike.
That is the extent of the violent content in this iPhone/iPod Touch
game. The little red ball seems very happy while he is rolling around.
The music in Red Ball 3 is upbeat, and fun. I could not help smiling
while playing Red Ball 3. There is something innocent about the sounds.
The special effect sounds fit the theme of this app in a way that
enhances the game. There are levels that are frustrating so those sounds
distracted me from my irritation.
Red Ball 3 is composed of twenty levels. Many of them include multiple
challenges. I had to replay certain levels over and over again before
learning the concept needed in order to progress. The app sells for
ninety-nine cents so the bank won't be broken. Still some more levels
would have been appreciated. There are three stars to collect in each
level, and high scores can be a reason to replay.
The controls consist of three on screen buttons. There is a left arrow,
a right arrow, and a jump button. The levels include different game play
mechanics. Some work well, and others were more difficult to perform. I
did notice I had to die many times to collect the stars. Some are very
difficult to acquire, so I just finished the level. Certain levels are
frustrating, and others are really fun. Red Ball 3 is a real mixture in
that account.
I learned to think creatively in Red Ball 3. Each level brought a new
and unique challenge. One solution did not always work in a later level.
I had to keep shifting my thought patterns to complete the levels. Red
Ball 3 is a little on the short side. That is probably why some levels
are so frustrating. I would like to see a Red Ball 4 in the future.
Maybe the balls can have children or something.
