Rabbids Travel in Time 3D

I am not a fan of the Rabbids franchise. I have sampled a few of the games, and they did not do much for me. That has all changed with Rabbids Travel in Time 3D. I enjoy this game. It is a fun 2D side scrolling action adventure title. Well technically it is 3D, at least sort of. Normally I think of a 3D game as one that I interact with the third dimension. The backgrounds are 3D in Rabbids Travel in Time 3D. Players move on one plane though.

The graphics have a real polish and shine to them. The depth is impressive, but that all depends on how much 3D you want while you play. Players do whack enemies with various attacks. This is done to get clothing back, and to remove the enemy characters. I found I could avoid the violence in most instances. Which is something I appreciate.

The music has a quirky feel to it. Rabbids Travel in Time 3D also contains some comical moments. The rabbids interacting with the Ubisoft logo is one such instance. You have to see it to comprehend the kind of humor in this game. Previous Rabbids games has been a little tasteless in some of the humor. I am very pleased to report that Rabbids Travel in Time 3D tones that down. This makes it approachable by more family members.

The levels are long in Rabbids Travel in Time 3D, and they contain multiple paths. Many of these paths dead end but contain collectible items. There are a washing machine load full of unlockable items. I enjoyed dressing up my character, and looking at the 3D figurines. There are enough levels in Rabbids Travel in Time 3D to engage gamers for a few weeks. I feel that Rabbids Travel in Time 3D is worth the price of admission.

I have mixed feelings about the levels in Rabbids Travel in Time 3D. One one hand I really enjoy the side scrolling action. On the other many of the levels feel very similar. Rabbids Travel in Time 3D is a very easy game. This is great for families. Hardcore gamers will not be so happy with this though. It all depends what you are looking for in a Nintendo 3DS game.

I am very thankful that we were provided a review copy of Rabbids Travel in Time 3D. This hand held game is way better than I was expecting. The main lesson in Rabbids Travel in Time 3D is to persevere through various trials to get to the other side. I like this style of game for this franchise. I hope there are sequels to Rabbids Travel in Time 3D in the future.
