I have never played a game like RPM
Gymkhana Racing before. This is a racing game, but not against other
cars. Instead players have certain things to accomplish - like drive
over so many painted areas in an area. The areas are like something out
of RC Pro-Am, except there are more paths than one. Is it fun? How does
it control? I hope to answer those two questions in this review.
There is some entertainment value to driving around in these levels. I
found myself enjoying flying around a corner at a high speed. I had some
fun with RPM Gymkhana Racing. I also found some frustration. The driving
controls are sensitive. Now there is an option to adjust it, but I found
it was little help.
The 3D models in RPM Gymkhana Racing look very realistic in this
iPhone/iPod Touch game. There are banners with advertisements,
buildings, railings, and more in RPM Gymkhana Racing. I am very
impressed with how everything looks in RPM Gymkhana Racing. Players are
punished for crashing into things.
The music in RPM Gymkhana Racing is a mellow blend that comes close to
techno. I know those styles do not seem to mix. There are a lot of
different things mixed up in RPM Gymkhana Racing that work. I know it
does not sound like on the computer screen. The engine sounds are
realistic, but can get annoying. At least I got tired of them after
quite a few levels.
RPM Gymkhana Racing includes twenty-five stages where drifting is very
important. There are seven missions per stage, and five sub-missions.
Each level is graded on how well you perform. Do well and you will earn
more gold stars. That is not enough though. RPM Gymkhana Racing also
includes achievements and leaderboards.
I had some real issues with the controls in RPM Gymkhana Racing. Expect
to be face first into walls quite often. I even got stuck partially on
top of a wall, and had to wait for the timer to expire. My other choice
would have been to replay the entire level over again. I had completed
too many tasks to consider that.
I learned to look for the collectibles in every level of RPM Gymkhana
Racing. I also worked on learning how to drive in this video game. There
are three main different ways to control a vehicle in RPM Gymkhana
Racing. I had problems figuring out how to get any of them working to my
personal satisfaction and tastes. I like the idea of RPM Gymkhana
Racing, and how it does different things in the racing genre.
