Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time

When Nintendo finds something that sells, they will produce sequels. Hence Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time. Players can once again become a Pokemon. Answer some questions about yourself, and then you get to become one of the little battling critters. The random dungeons are back, as is going on all kinds of missions. Players can hunt down outlaw Pokemon, and do missions for other Pokemon. These range from taking a Pokemon to a certain floor of a certain dungeon to rescuing some poor little guy stuck deep in a dungeon. For some reason Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time feels like a MMORPG. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Darkness contain the same storyline.

The graphics are similar to the previous Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game. There are some neat little areas and cut scenes. The violence is limited since the characters are so small on the screens. There is a lot of repetition in the graphics of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time. This is to be expected when each floor of an area randomly generates. Levels start to look the same after awhile and that is the most frustrating part about this Nintendo DS cartridge.

There are two camps when it comes to the music in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time. The first camp is those that really enjoy the music, and find it catchy. The second camp turns the music off because of the irritation factor. The special effect sounds can also be annoying.

The story will take gamers some time in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time. The biggest reason is the need to level up. This grinding feels a lot like a MMORPG for some reason. Players lose their money and half of their items if they die in a dungeon. Since everything is random it can go from really easy to insanely difficult for no reason. The RPG Master purchased Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time, and feels like it was worth the money.

The ranging difficulty is one of the problems with Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time. Players can breeze through one dungeon, and then die on any single battle in the next one. Nintendo needs to work on the flow a whole lot more in future releases of this series. The game play is very slow, and can be extremely frustrating in some parts. It is so nice to have Pokemon behind you do nothing while your front character goes one on one over and over again.

Players get to help other Pokemon in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time. There is also a lesson in conquering fear. Evolution opens up to players after they beat the game. This limits this teaching a little bit in this reviewers opinion. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time is a different experience that is geared more towards older gamers.
