Pig Curling

Pig Curling takes the sport of curling and mixes it with pigs. Players launch pigs towards the circle. In every of the forty levels players must get a certain number of pigs in the circle. Be careful because you can knock them out with subsequent tosses. The smartest thing to do after getting enough is scratch the rest of the throws on purpose. Unless you are willing to take the risk to get a higher score.

The graphics in Pig Curling are a little small but everything in this game is easily recognizable. The pigs look good in their different sizes and attires. The really big ones may move slow but they look good. When a pig smashes into something else they will change colors in certain areas of the body. This is like a race car showing damage after a crash.

Pig Curling has a circus feel to the music. Then of course there are the pig sounds. What else would you expect from a video game that has pig in the name. Anyone else notice there are a lot of pig apps on the iPhone/iPod Touch? The WMG did as well. The special effect sounds fit this app, and enhance it in some fun ways. It is wonderful getting to complete a level.

This review is being written before this app goes live. This reviewer has been told this app will retail for ninety-nine cents. Normally forty levels with ten more coming would be a good deal. However the WMG blew through over thirty levels in just an hour. The levels are generally a little too easy. Which may make a comment coming up in the next paragraph seem strange.

Pig Curling can be extremely frustrating. The problem of hurling the pigs in the right direction around the obstacles, or bouncing off them can make one pull their hair out. At times Pig Curling works perfectly. Other times the pigs go off on a weird angle. When all of them are needed it means the level has to be reset. The WMG reset levels more times than there are levels in this game. This is not all the time, and maybe a user error. But it happens enough to be frustrating. Otherwise Pig Curling is very forgiving and most of the levels are extremely easy.

Angles and speeds are the two lessons in Pig Curling. Plus knowing the foundation. Pigs will slide across the ice much better than wood. You know talking about pigs sliding just seems odd. The various powers that certain pigs have are a nice addition to Pig Curling. Sequels would be welcome in the future. It was a pleasure to play and review Pig Curling.
