Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension

I love it when shipping gives me a ring, text, or email. Why? Because they are telling me something has come into Family Friendly Gaming. I never know what it could be. We get so many hundreds of products each and every year - that every day can be like Christmas. This also leads to some stress on my end because once it arrives the clock is ticking. We have to find someone to review it and for that review to go through the process. No complaints my friends because these are the kinds of challenges I look forward to.

Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension came in recently and I decided to give this Wii game a spin. Note Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension is also on the Playstation 3. I used Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension as a way to spend some extra time with our first born son. In fact both of our sons played Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension with me. Yes I know the rating is E10+, and the ESRB is sending their enforcement team after me.

Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension uses a cel shading technique in most of the graphics. There are movie scenes that are interwoven through this home console game. These scenes come directly from the movie. Players acquire various guns that are used to shoot down the enemies. The majority of the enemies we faced were either robots or gelatin creatures. I know how strange that sounds, but its the truth. I am surprised at how tame the weapons are in Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension. Things like a baseball launcher, and an anti-gravity ray.

The voice acting in Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension is stellar. I really enjoyed the voices and many of the little touches in this game. For example there are characters inside levels that you will pass by. They will make comments as you progress through the level past them. We got numerous chuckles here at Family Friendly Gaming when this happened.

Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension includes twenty-five levels in seven worlds. Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension can be played by one family member, but it is much more fun to play with two. There are a few characters to unlock in Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension, and some fun little mini games. There are also collectible items that can be found or purchased. Kids that enjoy this show will most likely enjoy this game.

Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension starts simple. As the player progresses the game throws more things at them. There are puzzle elements in certain aspects of the game. There are also quite a few areas where you stop, and shoot everything before being able to progress. The shooting action gets dull after a couple of levels. My oldest son even commented on couldn't we just skip the shooting part.

The storyline in Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension involves a completely different version of the main characters in a different dimension. We get to spend some time with a different villain, and Agent T. Phineas and Ferb learn about the true nature of their pet platypus Perry (aka Agent P). They are trying to save an alternate world, and get back to theirs. I know what I am going to do today.
