OvenBreak Infinity

I
love playing Christmas video games. It is awesome to see a manger scene,
angels, shepherds and more. OvenBreak Infinity is a Christmas related by
having the main player be a gingerbread man. Yolanda took one look at
him and said: "That is one mean looking gingerbread man." He is mad
because he is food and well we eat gingerbread men.
There are very few levels in OvenBreak Infinity. They are however
extremely long. Players can make three mistakes in a level and then it
is game over. Additional lives (chances/mistakes) can be earned by
spelling freedom. Among the jelly beans are letters. Spell the word
freedom and you receive an extra life.
The graphics in OvenBreak Infinity look decent. I enjoyed how well many
of the items look. The levels are long which means certain graphical
elements are repeated. As far as I can tell the things are randomly
generated in OvenBreak Infinity. Certain items must be jumped over, and
others must be slid under. I tried and tried to get that hook working.
For some reason I always missed it.
The screen is always scrolling in OvenBreak Infinity. Do really well and
it will speed up. Which is not much of a bonus in my opinion. OvenBreak
Infinity is a difficult game as is. Going faster just increased my
chances for making a mistake. Lose all your lives and you have to start
the level all over again. Although I did feel like I accomplished
something when I finally beat a level in OvenBreak Infinity.
OvenBreak Infinity is kind to players by starting them slow. Tons of
extra lives and few opportunities for death. It then adds some
difficulty, and adds some more. After the third level you better be
ready. At that point OvenBreak Infinity gets difficult. The two dollar
price tag seems a bit high in my opinion. I know a lot of one dollar
games with much more content.
OvenBreak Infinity is a very interesting idea, and I am thankful that I
was able to play it. I have not played a side scrolling 2D level based
game that kept the action moving for some time now. This concept has
been used for specific levels in other games, and I can recall those.
But none of them went as fast as OvenBreak Infinity.
