NBA 2K12

The number one NBA video game is back. NBA 2K12 has increased its very own legendary status. I am reviewing the Wii version which may not be as graphically intense as the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, but it is a fantastic game in its own right. In fact I have to hand it to 2K Sports for providing this game on the Wii. They are not neglecting Wii owners like some other sports video game publishers. You know who I am looking at.

Graphically the courts look fantastic. The characters look better than I was expecting. Some of them look very similar to their real life counter parts. Since I am a Super Sonics fan I was so happy to see them in this game. I scowled at people like Rodman with his colorful head. Yes NBA 2K12 includes his colorful head. The animations of the players is extremely life like. That is not the only life like thing in NBA 2K12.

The squeaks of the shoes brought back memories. As well as the comments of the announcers. NBA 2K12 has little things that make it feel more like a real basketball game. For instance they check in with a lady who just talked to the coach. They have players of the game, moments of the game, and more. All of these add to the overall presentation - which is top notch.

Each song in NBA 2K12 can be turned on and off. As well as the volume controls that can be adjusted. I noticed a few different styles of music in NBA 2K12. None of it actually sounded like basketball to me, but I obviously have a different taste in music. I enjoy having the option of being able to turn on and off the songs that get on my nerves.

Who is the greatest basketball team of all time? NBA 2K12 attempts to answer that question by providing over thirty legendary teams. You have the Sonics, Celtics, Bulls, Lakers, and more. These teams had dynasties that fans consistently argue about. Well now you can pick up a Wii Remote and Nunchuk, and settle the matter once and for all. I enjoyed having the Sonics defeat the Bulls. Not only defeat, but blow them out.

There are so many modes in NBA 2K12 that I can not do this game justice. The legendary teams and modes really sticks out with NBA 2K12. Which is why I have spent so much time on it. But there are other modes for fans. All of the current teams are selectable. You can take them for a season, or a quick game. You can enjoy some of your achievements and a highlight reel. NBA 2K12 is one of those games that you will get your moneys worth out of.

The cheerleaders are still present in NBA 2K12. Wonder how the ESRB missed that? They are actually dressed better in NBA 2K12 than the real world ones. You probably heard the story about the kid asking his father why they were out there shaking all around in their under wear. Team work is very important in NBA 2K12. I really appreciate the gauge that shows how hot a player is on a certain area of the court. Knowing when to shoot is very important in this game. Standing there with the Wii Remote doing a shooting motion is priceless.
