My First TRAINZ Set

Children run train sets. So I was very excited to hear about the release of My First TRAINZ Set on the iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad. I was even more excited when a download code came in. But with my busy schedule I am not always able to get to games I want to play. But I am a patient man. I got through some other products, and jumped on board of My First TRAINZ Set.

The trains, rooms, and all the extras look great in My First TRAINZ Set. I enjoy seeing the trains move around the track and being able to put the camera where ever I want it. Being able to get inside the train and look around is a real treat. On the flip side I saw some strange graphics. For example turning and going up a hill has part of the cars disappear into the table. I understand that they will not bend in that situation, but it still looked odd.

The horn on the train can bring enjoyment or anger. I found this out rather quickly. Not everyone enjoys hearing that horn go off as often as I do. I was provided a pair of headphones to enjoy the sounds without interfering with the work of others. Yes I am the boss, but I can comprehend being considerate of others. At least once they communication that with me. The music fits the theme of this app.

My First TRAINZ Set has two main modes. The first one is to drive the trains around the tracks. The second one is to build your very own tracks. This supplies many hours of replay for families. Parents will most likely be roped into building tracks whereas the children will enjoy running the train all around the tracks. I feel that price for My First TRAINZ Set is fair with the level of content.

The controls in driving the trains in My First TRAINZ Set is extremely simple. This makes this hand held game approachable by more family members. There is a going forward button, a stop button, and a going backwards button. Now the controls can get a little more complex in the building of the train tracks. There are enough tools to make some fantastic tracks in the various regions.

Kids are not the only ones who enjoy train tracks. I had a friend (when I was a child) whose father had a train track all set up in his garage. They take up a lot of space, and they take a lot of time. They are however a lot of fun, and allow people to express creativity. My First TRAINZ Set brings that same concept to this platform. There is something so wonderful about being creative within a certain set of rules.
