MotionSports AdrenalineMotionSports Adrenaline

MotionSports Adrenaline is an extreme sports game on the Xbox 360 that uses the Kinect sensor. There is Wingsuit Diving, Kite Surfing, Rock Climbing, Mountain Biking, Kayaking, and Skiing. Okay so maybe Skiing is not very extreme. But jumping off ramps and doing poses is extreme. All of these sports (editor: with the exception of Rock Climbing) have the player doing some extreme jumps and poses.

MotionSports Adrenaline is one beautiful looking game. The characters in MotionSports Adrenaline look very realistic. The environments also look realistic. I am impressed with the water effects in the two water sports. Players can bump into things like rocks, trees and more at extreme speeds. They bounce off and the player loses control for a few seconds.

I enjoy the special effect sounds in MotionSports Adrenaline. There is something great about collecting star coins, and performing fantastic tricks. Those generally come from doing a pose at the right time. MotionSports Adrenaline includes modern music. This is where the ESRB found the lyrics issue. The songs I heard while playing MotionSports Adrenaline are very energetic.

I understand that some may scoff at there only being six sports in MotionSports Adrenaline. The thing is they are really good sports that are a lot of fun. On top of that, there are multiple ways to play them. Additional content can be downloaded, on top of the decent array of existing content. Four family members can enjoy MotionSports Adrenaline. We swapped players out quite frequently, and the game allowed it.

There are Xbox 360 Kinect games out there that have control issues. I am pleased to report MotionSports Adrenaline is not one of those games. I had no problems controlling this home console game. In fact I marveled at how well MotionSports Adrenaline controlled. I got some exercise while playing this game. I would put the exercise at the mild level. But that is more than enough to warrant interest.

There are some competitive modes in MotionSports Adrenaline. So families can compete against one another. I also learned to pay attention to the environment around me. I may want to get over to the right but that rock is in the way. I learned to avoid things like that (and trees) so I could keep my speed up. Out of the sports in MotionSports Adrenaline, the only one that felt a little out of place was Rock Climbing.

I need to say that I love the Rock Climbing sport in MotionSports Adrenaline. All of the other sports are fast paced, and intense. Rock Climbing can be intense, but it is much slower. All in all MotionSports Adrenaline is a great game for families. I am thankful that Ubisoft published this game, and provided us a reviewable copy.
