MinoMonsters

MinoMonsters piqued my curiosity. Here is an iPhone/iPod Touch game that lets you collect all kinds of monsters and battle them against one another. Yeah I thought of the big 'P' as well. And in some ways it is not fair to compare MinoMonsters to Pokemon. The hardware is certainly not beefed up enough to handle a quest spanning game like Pokemon. But MinoMonsters does have something of interest.

The artwork in MinoMonsters reminds me of another well known franchise - Digimon. The monsters have a wonderful artistic flair to them. A few of the monsters in MinoMonsters are scary, but most are generally friendly. I enjoyed the light animations in the battle screens. Expect to battle many of the same looking monsters in this hand held title.

MinoMonsters includes awesome sounds and music. I enjoyed listening to the high quality sounds in this iPhone/iPod Touch game. The creatures make some sounds during the game. I enjoyed various story elements of MinoMonsters. Players are there to re-acquire what they lost when their boat crashed into some rocks.

MinoMonsters contains numerous monsters. Friends and family can compete together in MinoMonsters. The best way to victory is to level up your monsters with many battles. The game play of MinoMonsters is where it could use some additional development. Players move around maps with the greatest of ease. They are required to perform certain tasks. These are randomly generated and can be extremely annoying. I had captured a certain monster and later that came up as a task. So I had to do it again to complete the task.

MinoMonsters does some things right. Collecting the monsters, leveling up and interacting with the monsters are all done well. The storyline is light compared to almost every role playing game out there. The walking around repetitively in the game play areas does get a little old. MinoMonsters taught me to get them before they get me. And to keep getting them until they could fight back no longer.
