Mini Motor Racing

I have a brand new favorite racing game on the iPhone/iPod Touch. Mini Motor Racing is that game. Most racing titles on this platform mess up the controls. The tilting, and touching do not work so well with racing games. The Binary Mill found the right formula with the default settings. And if you don't like it they let you pick a different control scheme.

Graphically Mini Motor Racing is beautiful. The art work, the vehicles, the special effects, the tracks - the whole enchilada is inspired. The vehicles in Mini Motor Racing look like micro machines. They look great. They can bump into the walls and other cars. The game allows this without any penalty to the vehicle. It does slow you down.

The music in Mini Motor Racing is pretty good. I enjoyed listening to the music on the various menu screens. Expect some engine revving action when you are taking those hair pin turns. Using a nitro will give you an amazing boost for a short period of time. Figuring out where to use a nitro is even more difficult since there are so many RC Pro AM style of curves to the track.

There are twenty tracks in Mini Motor Racing. What makes it so exciting is there are different weather effects. These tracks are used throughout various race circuits. For the price I feel there is an enormous value to Mini Motor Racing. Players earn money in each race, which is spent on other vehicles and upgrades to existing vehicles.

The higher you place in a race the more money you earn. This is the simple lesson of the harder you work the more you earn. Someone working two jobs has a better chance of making more money than someone working only one. First place is rewarded with a higher dollar value so racers want to do the best they can.

I found the trick to Mini Motor Racing is getting in front early. If you can get a lead quickly, then you have a better chance of finishing first. Knowing the tracks is another little key. I had fun playing Mini Motor Racing. This game is my new favorite racing title for this platform. I have been waiting for someone to do this genre right on the iPhone/iPod Touch. My wait is over.
