MLB Bobblehead Battle
SCORE: 74
MLB Bobblehead Battle is an arcade style baseball game that is downloadable on the Xbox 360. All of the players in MLB Bobblehead Battle are bobblehead dolls. Their heads bob when batting, they bob when pitching, and they bob when - well they don't exactly run. This game sells for 800 Microsoft points on Xbox Live. That is around ten US dollars.
The animation of the bobbling bobbleheads in MLB Bobblehead Battle is absolutely awesome. Try to say that five times really fast. I can't. Too much bobble for me. The team colors look good, and the stadiums are rather fresh. The fans in the stands look rather generic to me. I hit numerous foul balls so I was able to enjoy the fans over and over again.
I like the music in MLB Bobblehead Battle. It is not very memorable, but I do feel it gives a certain ambiance to this downloadable home console video game. I enjoyed the different cards that could be used to give an even more arcade feel to MLB Bobblehead Battle. I did not find any offensive sounds while playing this Xbox 360 game.
For the level of content I do feel MLB Bobblehead Battle is a little on the higher side of things in terms of price. The main goal of this game in my opinion is for people to play one another. Playing other humans will give you a much better game since the computer is insanely difficult. I took the best team in the game, and played the worst team. I still lost.
Batting is difficult in MLB Bobblehead Battle. There is an outline of the bat (which can be removed), and the cursor moves all around the batting area. The cursor is where the pitcher will throw the ball. The problem is I would line my bat up with where the ball would be, and not have enough time to find the ball. Finding the ball is important because it helps with timing. Baseball is all about timing. I hit so many foul balls it was crazy.
The field in MLB Bobblehead Battle is different than anything I have
ever seen. The grass has areas that are outs, singles, double, etc.
There are also giant obstacles to stop the ball. The ability to use card
to manipulate the field is very cool. The down side is it does not last
very long. I had a lot of high hopes for MLB Bobblehead Battle. I would
have liked it better if it had been a regular baseball game with
bobblehead characters.
