Lets Cheer

I know a few things about cheerleader games. I know a few things about cheerleaders. My niece is a cheerleader. So I consulted her opinion of this Xbox 360 Kinect game. She was impressed with most of the aspects of Let's Cheer!. There were some pelvic thrusts they do not do at thirteen. But there are cheer squads that do. The level of realism in the cheers inside Let's Cheer! is amazing.

The first thing I noticed about the graphics in Let's Cheer! is how the midriffs of the cheerleaders are covered up. Too many cheerleader games go for the sexual content, which makes no sense to me. Let's Cheer! is a game that is geared for girls. We have no interest in seeing that on other women or girls. So it is fantastic that 2K Play covered them up.

With that stated, the girls are wearing cheerleader outfits. That means short skirts. I noticed that they are almost always smiling. This is another layer of realism in Let's Cheer!. Cheerleaders are generally happy, and concentrate on helping their team perform better. I often wondered what kind of impact they actually have a sporting event.

The level of realism is so high in Let's Cheer! that I can see this being used to train cheerleaders. The captain of the squad will explain and show the cheers. They also will verbalize them. Let's Cheer! adds to the interactivity by having you talk to the Kinect sensor as well. Maybe talk to is not accurate. Chanting out loud is how the game describes it.

Let's Cheer! allows the player to train a certain cheer on easy, medium or hard. Those same difficulty settings are there for performing the routine. This can be done with one player or two. All of these is on one screen so it is easy to select. Let's Cheer! includes a neat collage of unlockable content. Perform so well to unlock most of the content.

There are enough routines in Let's Cheer! to keep families busy for a month or more. The cool part about this Xbox 360 game is the exercise. Girls are allowed to sweat off the pounds thanks to this home console cheer simulator. There are some lyrical issues with some of the songs. Many of the songs in Let's Cheer! are real cheerleader chants. Some of them are songs that give this game its Everyone 10+ rating.

Let's Cheer! taught me that cheers are not that hard to learn. There are a few motions in this game I did not do. Some of the lyrics made me sigh in disgust. Let's Cheer! is taking the cheerleader genre in the right direction. It is not completely where I would like to see it, but it is definitely a large step on the proper path.

Girls will have a lot of fun with Let's Cheer!. Boys are not so thrilled with performing cheerleader routines. If you have a boy that does, I would be concerned for you.
