KULA BLOX

KULA BLOX

There are many block games in the world of video games. There are even some BLOX video games. To this reviewer's knowledge this is the first time there has been a KULA BLOX video game. KULA BLOX takes block versions of animals. The player gets to pick a predator, and then starts to free fall. Prey is hanging around waiting to be eaten. They won't just sit if they see you coming. They do try to move out of the way.

Graphically KULA BLOX looks decent. The predators eat the prey, and little ghosts float off for a second or two. The violence is mild in this reviewer's opinion. Especially considering the blocky nature of KULA BLOX. There are various colors, and the farther players go, the more animals there are. The same goes for special techniques that can help in sticky situations.

The music in KULA BLOX is wonderful. It gives a jungle feel to KULA BLOX. The animals make specific sounds in levels during specific situations. At times this could be too often. Hearing an eagle screech here and there is fine. Too often though can get annoying. Certain levels got annoying in the WMG's opinion. Still the overall experience with the sounds is a positive one.

The price of this iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad game is fair. There are enough levels for families to express an interest in this game. Plus there will be new worlds coming in the future. Yeah that seems to be the mantra of the games on this hand held. They give some levels and promise more in the future. They deliver so no complaints there.

Players need to eat so many of certain animals to complete a level. This gets more difficult as the player progresses through each and every level. That count goes higher, and more predators try to steal our animals. There are also things the player can do to defend themselves like use a turtle shell. Attacks can also be performed to even the playing field. The more animals the player eats the larger they grow. Which means bigger animals can be eaten.

The one item of concern that some may have with KULA BLOX is the possible teaching to be a glutton. Animals in the animal kingdom would not need to eat that much in such a short time. They won't be falling from such heights either so that may wash in your opinion. Players can learn to adapt to changing environments thanks to KULA BLOX. Tilting this hand held to line up with prey works nicely in KULA BLOX.
