Dennis the Menace Season One

"Hey Mr Wilson!" That phrase is stuck in my head after watching around thirteen hours of Dennis the Menace. What have I been watching? Dennis the Menace Season One. Shout Factory was kind enough to send Family Friendly Gaming this wholesome, family friendly television show from 1959. I am glad they did because I had never seen it before. Dennis the Menace Season One is from a bygone era where Hollywood was capable of providing good, clean shows for families. I should note that Dennis does some really bad things in the pilot episode, but after that he really becomes lovable.

Dennis the Menace Season One is in black and white. This may surprise children from this era. You want to know something interesting though? My boys did not comment on the black and white nature of this show once. They have on other television shows, but they were sucked right into this one. The attire from that era was much more formal. Women almost always wore dresses, and men wore suits a lot. Dennis wears his coveralls most of the time. Some people claim we have progressed since that era, but we have also lost important things along the way as well.

The music in Dennis the Menace Season One is the kind that gets stuck in your head. I woke up in the middle of the night hearing it in my head. Which didn't bother me, but brought a smile to my face. Of course going on a Dennis the Menace marathon may have had something to do with that too. The respect the characters have for one another is exceptional. The worst part of the language is when Dennis refers to Margaret as dumb. Find that in a modern day show if you can.

I checked the price of Dennis the Menace Season One online and it is very reasonable. Bear in mind you are getting around thirteen hours. Which is a insane amount of wholesome content for the price. There are some cool extras included. An episode of The Donna Reed Show where Jay North (plays Dennis Mitchell) guest stars. The original promos, an interview, and an all new conversation with a few cast members. I feel that Dennis the Menace Season One is worth the price.

A real shout out goes to the Shout Factory for releasing Dennis the Menace Season One. Oh and sorry for the pun. They have found a wonderful show and brought it to retail. The humor in Dennis the Menace Season One becomes predictable, but the tightly woven writing makes it entertaining. There are many surprises in almost every show. Dennis the Menace Season One is a classic for a reason. The stories teach various lessons. One of the best ones is to work for money. Dennis works hard to earn money.

In Dennis the Menace Season One Dennis Mitchell is a kid with good intentions. Unfortunately those intentions do not equate to helping people, especially Mr. Wilson. We have been debating here at some length what was in Mr.Wilson's nerve medicine. Whatever it is, there are some days I think I could use a dose. I have two rambunctious boys, and can see some of the mother in me, and some of Dennis in my own boys. That is one of the reasons I feel this is such a great show. It is very real, and families all over the world can relate to it.
