Dance Paradise

Dance games have become all the rage in recent years. Just Dance has gotten people off the couch and dancing around. THQ does not want to be left out of the party so they have released Dance Paradise on the Xbox 360. This dance game uses Kinect. Which is much more accurate than holding a Wii Remote. That also means it is a lot less forgiving. After seeing some of the dance moves in Dance Paradise you may be asking how do they do that? Well the Gumby looking dancers in Dance Paradise are very bendable.

One of the really cool things about Dance Paradise is seeing your avatar up there dancing. The avatar looked so much better than the WMG. The level of special effects, and graphics in Dance Paradise are amazing. There are little things like a reflection in the floor. Families need to be aware of the rating in Dance Paradise. It is there for a reason. Dance Paradise includes the music videos for the forty songs. This is MTV kind of content.

Musical tastes range among different people. The WMG strongly encourages families to look over the play list before purchasing Dance Paradise. There are a couple of songs this reviewer liked. Almost all of them are upbeat. The lyrics in some of these songs will raise eyebrows. Many of the songs exhibit selfishness, sexual objectification of women, and even violence. There are also some good lessons in certain songs.

There are enough songs in Dance Paradise to keep most gamers busy for weeks. There are dance games that include more songs, and some of them have more family friendly songs. There are various modes, and two players can enjoy Dance Paradise at the same time. If you like the music videos then you can rest a bit and watch them. Just be careful what you move because you may scroll to another song.

The greatest thing about Dance Paradise is exercise. Dance Paradise gives players a serious leg work out as they play. The WMG got tired after a few songs and need a little rest. Some of the dance moves in Dance Paradise are easy, and others are difficult. The faster the player does the moves, the more time there is to see what the next move is. This can be frustrating at times because of how lengthy some of the dance moves are.

Dance Paradise is for the older members of the family, which is a shame. It would have been nice for Dance Paradise to be inclusive of the younger members of the family. The work out aspect of Dance Paradise is fantastic. The music videos contain numerous problems. Women are shown as sexual objects, and many could use a lot more clothes. The lyrics are the next issue that families will have with Dance Paradise. Bad attitudes is the least of the problems there. Dance Paradise has potential, and maybe a future release will contain a majority of family friendly songs.
