Cozy Fire

We have one of those DVD's that plays a fire as it burns in the fireplace. We absolutely love that DVD, especially around Christmas time. When I heard about Cozy Fire on the Wii, I was intrigued. Could it be done better on the home console? And for half of the price of the DVD. So I put in our request to receive a reviewable copy of Cozy Fire. When it arrived I was very excited to download it.

Cozy Fire is not really a video game in the traditional sense. There are no levels to complete, and there is no real goal. With that said Cozy Fire is one of the best downloadable games I have ever played on the Wii. Cozy Fire expands the Wii beyond a video game machine into something more. I am not sure exactly what that is, but I like it.

There are six different types of fire places in Cozy Fire - fire alone, campfire, rustic, classic, elegant and Zen fireplaces. There are numerous different kinds of logs that can be put into the fire. The fire functions realistically, and the game will only allow so many logs at once. I found Cozy Fire to be very relaxing, especially the campfire location.

Cozy Fire reminds me of all those wonderful fires I had as a boy. The crackling of the wood is a distinctive sound, and this game has captured it. My only complaint is the volume is really low, and needs to be turned up. That is such a minor thing that it is barely worth a mention. Cozy Fire is such a soothing game that I found myself falling asleep because I enjoyed it so much.

At first I was not very happy about Cozy Fire limiting me on the logs. Then I realized there is only so much screen. Logs can be stirred via the Wii Remote if you are not used to enjoying something this cool. The non-stop mode is fantastic especially if you want to enjoy the fire without having to add new logs. Butler mode has the game put additional logs on the fire for you. Personally I enjoyed controlling it myself.

Cozy Fire is only 500 points on the Wii which is an amazing price in my opinion. I really appreciate dtp young entertainment publishing this title. This game expands the video game industry and shows the world that there is more to this industry than blowing things up. I hope there are more games like Cozy Fire in the future. It was my pleasure to review this Wii game.
