Barnyard Mahjong

My amazing hubby was busy with other products, so I decided to check out Barnyard Mahjong. Boy am I glad I did. This is one of the best apps I have played all year long. I talked to Paul about Barnyard Mahjong because I did not know much about Mahjong games. He explained to me the history of the tiles. Don't worry I won't bore you with all the history.

The graphics in Barnyard Mahjong are very cute and approachable by all family members. The images can be a little small on the iPod Touch/iPhone. They look a little better on the iPad. The backgrounds are great, and all of the tiles have a real farm feel to them. Touching a tile will make it go transparent while you find the matching one. I would recommend only doing that when you are sure where the two matching tiles are.

I love the music in Barnyard Mahjong. It is so soothing. I was not expecting this level of sophistication from Barnyard Mahjong. When the player matches two animals, equipment, or other items the game gives a sound. Cows give off a moo, tractors make a mechanical sound, and so on. This depth in an iPhone/iPod Touch game is fantastic.

There are eighty-four lengthy levels in Barnyard Mahjong. Family Friendly Gaming was provided a download code for Barnyard Mahjong. This app is only ninety-nine cents. So in my opinion, those that purchase Barnyard Mahjong are getting a wonderful deal. This app takes from the east and west and puts it together marvelously. I enjoyed playing the levels in Barnyard Mahjong, and then trying to beat my score.

Barnyard Mahjong is the kindest Mahjong game I have ever played or heard about. When you get near the end it is possible to not be able to have any more moves. Barnyard Mahjong shuffles them and lets you keep playing. I had this game reshuffle for me a couple times. Eventually things would open up and I could complete a level. I ran into one small issue with Barnyard Mahjong. Because the tiles are small I had trouble hitting the right one a few times. I eventually got the right one. This led to a mild amount of frustration.

The main lesson in Barnyard Mahjong is to find the matches. This game is a wonderful tool to train the mind to look for things. I can think of a few professions that could use this kind of training. It was a real pleasure for me to play and review Barnyard Mahjong on the iPhone/iPod Touch, and iPad. I hope for sequels in the future. This game could even port over to the Playstation Vita or Nintendo 3DS.
